It’s wild to think that the FIRST QUARTER is a wrap on 2024. 😱

Is it just me or is this year flying by?

Now that we’re a full 90 days into the year, it’s a good time to reflect and assess where you’re at with what you’ve been working towards.

It’s a good idea to set goals for yourself.

Goals and objectives are super important to remain in alignment with what you’re trying to achieve.

Reflecting and assessing on the progress is equally as important.

Each year, most of us roll with personal goals like…

  • Lose 15 lbs.

  • Be more present with family.

  • Pay off outstanding credit card debt.

Or professional goals, such as…

  • Start a new business.

  • Earn a promotion at work.

  • Leverage resources to save time.

These are all great, but they aren’t overly specific and also can be disheartening if not achieved in the 12 month calendar timeframe we give ourselves.

If we’re not on track to hit our annual goals by the second half of the year, we often end up quitting and push it off to start again in the new year.

So why, the PRESSURE?

The reason for this is because they lack OOMPH.

The OOMPH is…

HOW?

How do we actually achieve these goals and what’s the realistic timeframe towards success?

There are two things to focus on that will help answer that question…

  1. LOFTY OUTPUT GOALS (L.O.G.’s)

  2. STRONG INPUT TARGETS (S.I.T.’s)

OUTPUT vs. INPUT

OUTPUT = what the world sees 🌎

INPUT = what only you see. 👓

Let’s break it down…

Lofty Output Goals

LOFTY OUTPUT GOALS (L.O.G.) are similar to any other goal, except that it’s something you want to have achieved 1 to 3 years from now.

This provides a longer timeframe, so think BIGGER.

What will you have produced out into the world?

What will others come to see?

These should be very difficult to achieve without MASSIVE EFFORT.

If you want to do something, but find yourself saying…

“Nah… I couldn’t possibly do that.”

That’s probably a PERFECT lofty goal for you.

L.O.G.’s are results-focused.

These are the products of what will support your Ultimate Vision.

They require a ton of ACTION. 💥

They are important, so you can continue challenging yourself on purpose.

When you define your lofty goals, think bigger and provide a compelling reason why you want this.

For example…

Instead of “losing 15 lbs.”, think more like…

Train for a marathon.

If you train for a marathon, you’ll most likely lose more than 15lbs. and develop sustainable healthy habits to not gain the 15 back.

Or instead of “start a new business”, think more like…

Own a service-based business doing $250,000 in annual revenue.

Telling your subconscious that not only will you start a new business, but you will remain on the path of maintaining a strong drive to keep going and achieve significant growth.

Anyone can start something, but lofty goals are meant to motivate us to continue pushing forward.

L.O.G.’s may seem unachievable at the time, but that’s the point.

Defining them provides clarity on what you truly want, and you can focus on your STRONG INPUT TARGETS more frequently to measure progress.

Strong Input Targets

TARGETS (by my definition) are defined as objectives you will hit in the near future (less than one year) with some effort and practice. 🎯

They are INPUT targets because this is the work you put in behind the scenes and answers the question…

HOW?

How do I achieve my lofty goals?

First… your STRONG INPUT TARGETS need to align with your LOFTY OUTPUT GOALS.

Secondly, you’ll want to set targets Quarterly, Monthly, Weekly, and Daily.

Be specific.

So if you have a personal L.O.G. of “Running a marathon”, your S.I.T.’s may look like this….

  • DAILY = Choose healthy meals, take in adequate hydration, and stretch

  • WEEKLY = Run 3+ days

  • MONTHLY = Up total miles ran on average by 10%

  • QUARTERLY = Sign up for a 5k and increase race length each QTR

Or if you have a professional L.O.G. of “Own a service-based business doing $250,000 in annual revenue”, your S.I.T.’s may look like this…

  • DAILY = Identify and focus on your top revenue driving tasks

  • WEEKLY = Follow up on your pipeline with multi-touch campaigns

  • MONTHLY = Close X number of deals and ask for referrals

  • QUARTERLY = Identify and implement new operational efficiencies for growth

These consistent time based actions will compound over time to achieve your lofty goals AND many other amazing things along the way. 🤩

Annual calendar goals are great, but…

L.O.G.’s and S.I.T.’s can be defined at any point in the year, which makes them even better.

Set LOFTY GOALS 1+ years out and define STRONG TARGETS to remain consistent towards achievement and developing better habits.

Reflect and assess each quarter to refine your L.O.G.’s and S.I.T.’s to maintain alignment with your Ultimate Vision.

I bet you’ll find more success, happiness along the way, and end up achieving more than you thought possible.

This is the MINDSET SHIFT. 🤯
