Thought the old timers would have sent a carrier pigeon 🕊️, but to much of my surprise they had iPhones 📱and hit me right back... 😁

: an occasion or situation that makes it possible to do something with a positive outcome - a good chance for advancement or progress

THIS. 👆

This is the premise of the OPPO FLOW Mindset. It's all about recognizing that Opportunity is Everywhere. 

“Each day provides fresh opportunities to achieve growth and take action towards your vision. Some of those will become pivotal moments that launch and strengthen your perception of a SUCCESSFUL, FULFILLING, and HAPPY LIFE.

If we now know that opportunity gives us a solid chance of growth with a positive outcome, the question you should be asking yourself now becomes...

How can I recognize and take action on more of them?

You do this by building the OPPO FLOW Mindset into your DAILY LIFE.

Let me break it down for ya...

I am an acronym junkie, so naturally, you know, O.P.P.O. is an acronym! 😆

First O = Open & Positive Mind. Start Here. This sets the tone and the foundation of everything.

Ever heard of the Default Mode Network?! 🤔

It's in your BRAIN. 🧠 Otherwise, known as MONKEY MIND. 🙉 

It's that defeating and negative voice that creeps into our heads.

What we think about ourselves? Judging how we acted in a certain situation?

Your Default Mode Network (DMN) is at it's peak when you're awake, lost in your thoughts, and doing something passive. When your mind wanders. 😶‍🌫️

Typically, these thoughts are around experiences from our past or planning for the future. This may sound like a good thing, buuuuttt.....

  • If those prior experiences are negative in nature, we dwell or lose confidence. 😔

  • If our future plans make us feel uneasy, we stress. 😟

Your DMN is at it's lowest, when we're active. When we live in the MOMENT. When we're doing something we LOVE. 

When we're in a STATE OF FLOW. Focused on our activity without distraction.

Science defines FLOW as an optimal state of consciousness. In FLOW, you perform and feel your best. The task you're doing absorbs you so much that everything else disappears.

Athletes experience this when they're in the ZONE. When marathoners hit that RUNNER'S HIGH. 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️

NOTHING ELSE MATTERS. THIS IS FLOW STATE.

If negativity creeps in, claw 🐻 at those thoughts until they're gone. Practice and Mindfulness will help you accomplish this quickly.

A wandering mind is great for Inspiration 🤩 and Ideas.💡 

Be sure to keep them POSITIVE.  If not managed properly or you never take action on those great things you dream about, your DMN takes over and can be detrimental.

Which would be the exact opposite of having a GROWTH MINDSET. 

DON'T BE MEAN TO YOURSELF!

DMN findings are new, and research is certainly on-going, and I am NO expert! Check out this awesome article for a deeper dive 🤿 and where I got a lot of this info.

First P = Purpose. Define It. You won't get very far if you don't know where you are going. Ask yourself these questions:

  • What do I (not anyone else) truly want out of life?

  • What impact do I (not anyone else) want to make on others?

  • How do I (not anyone else) want to be?

  • What are MY true intentions?

  • What are MY core values?

  • What are MY goals?

Second P = Preparation. This is Key.  Your mind and body are powerful things. Reward the asset with knowledge, practice, and health.

Read (or listen) to books. Pop on some podcasts. Click this link for my Top 10 Mindset Recs

Check your INNER CIRCLE. Get around people who will inspire and motivate you. Ask questions. Listen intently and implement. Practice your pitch/communication skills.

Eat healthy and, if you can, get in the gym. 🏋️ Just move. Put your body to work. 💪

RESEARCH, RESEARCH, RESEARCH....

Learn from what others have done or are actively doing. At the end of the day, when you're prepared, it never feels like you're rolling the dice 🎲.

You begin to instill an ABUNDANCE of CONFIDENCE in your life. This becomes who YOU are. The more prepared you are, the more confident you become.

SIMPLE AS THAT! 👊

Now, at this point, I know you're probably asking...

"Well... Captain OPPO Flow Man,🦸 how do I recognize GOOD Opportunity and what happens if I go down the wrong path?!"

GREAT QUESTION, MY INQUISITIVE FRIEND.... Before I get to that, we have reached our layover and will be resuming our travels soon....
